Leaked clips living off grid jake nicole2/17/2024 Nothing wrestling related directly, but whatever. He showed up and we let him show some body weight exercises, I think he showed some push-up thing he did, and maybe some kind of breathing drill. I was just content to let him do his thing and do some of our normal drills and call it a day. He finally told me he would come in, but didn't demand anything. Usually our Saturday practices were where we had guys like him, they were less formal and we'd go pretty easy. I think I kept asking him for about a year or so before he did. I reached out to Jake, he was an alumni and I really didn't ask much just made sure he hadn't been in jail and was doing something positive. Once we sorted out the dumpster fire and got things moving in the right direction, we started reaching out to alumni to come in and give some more encouraging words and share stuff. I act picked Chaparral because they had finished in last place at state the year before. Fast forward about 8 years and I left a great prep school wrestling program to be an assistant coach there. I was more focused on MMA or college wrestling with occasional school in there somewhere. So I honestly didn't keep track of the guy. At that time Chaparral was maxed out on space so the only way you could attend there if you didn't live in their attendance zone was to be a super good football player.īack to Jake though. If Jake has ever said anything about having it tough, not saying I did, but that's likely BS. A lot of kids there, even now, drive nicer cars than the teachers. I think he ended up placing 4th at state his senior year, which isn't a bad achievement since the wrestling program at Chaparral then was pretty bad.Ĭhaparral was then and still is in a very privileged part of town. Other than that I only met him a few times in passing, but never wrestled him. Probably the only connection to him I had was that we were at the same weight and a friend of mine had once wrestled him and had beaten him pretty badly. Ironically I ended up as an assistant coach there for a few years, long after he and I had graduated from high school. He wrestled for Chaparral High in Scottsdale, AZ. I just knew him from wrestling in high school. First of all I wasn't his friend, or even an acquaintance. This is about Jake Mace, an interesting guy because we basically come from the same kind of background. But this is not about that, there are many positives of kung Fu, fighting another human being one on one isn't one of them apparently. Usually I mock it because the guys who entered the UFC in the early days and local "kung fools" as we called them would occasionally test their luck in our local MMA world, only to get brutally beaten up by guys who could actually fight. I am not a kung Fu practicing person, and likely never will be. So I'll just preface this by saying, "Holy shit!" Please check out our Member Map and add yourself to our community!
